An avid group of Chamber Soloists of Detroit supporters gathered at Tilling House, home of Grosse Pointe residents William Kupsky and Ali Moiin in November to launch CSD’s new Sunday brunch concert series, Just Between Us, to debut at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial on Sunday, January 4, 2015.
Resplendent with art works of diverse mediums from all corners of the earth, the acoustically perfect music room was the setting for an intimate concert of chamber music by CSD musicians, violinist Aaron Berofsky, violist/violinist Kathryn Votapek, cellist Una O’Riordan and pianist Pauline Martin. The quartet’s stirring rendition of Brahms’ Piano Quartet in C minor followed a spirited performance of Jean-Marie Leclair’s Sonata No. 4 for Two Violins.
The event, which generated funding for the opening season of Just Between Us concerts, concluded with drinks, dessert and lively conversation.
