The Votapek Trio
Sunday, October 11, 2015
Pianist Ralph Votapek’s early triumphs — as winner of the prestigious Naumburg Award and Gold Medalist in the first Van Cliburn International Piano Competition — were an auspicious prelude to an even more remarkable career. His talented daughter and son, violinist/violist Kathryn and clarinetist Paul Votapek, join him in a brilliant program of masterworks. Experience the poetry of Chopin’s Polonaise-Fantaisie for solo piano, the romance of trios by Bruch and Khachaturian and the fantastic wit of Stravinsky’s own chamber version of “The Soldier’s Tale.”
